The issuance of a planning permission in order to lay the foundation stone and start the construction works awaits the five-star hotel, Sun City Spa Resort & Residences, which will be built in the area of Agia Thekla in the Municipality of Sotira.

According to information from InBusinessNews, the issuance of the relevant permit and the laying of the foundation stone is expected in December, when an official presentation will take place at the project site.

Sun City is estimated to be operational within approximately 18 months after the start of construction work, ie before the summer of 2018.

The ambitious € 50 million project, undertaken by the Giovani construction group, is an investment by the Chinese group Jim Chang Global.

However, the project will also be presented to foreign investors, as a special tour to Chinese cities is already planned in mid-November, followed by a similar presentation in countries such as Thailand and Vietnam.

The first elite hotel in Sotira will have, among other things, more than 200 rooms, a luxury spa, as well as an indoor and outdoor pool. In addition, it will include residential development, which will consist of 44 luxury apartments and 11 houses on the water.

It is recalled that the project, which comes from a private company registered in Hong Kong, is expected to be the largest private investment in the tourism industry in the province of Famagusta, while special emphasis seems to have been given to its architectural approach.

The luxury hotel will be built near the marina of Ayia Napa, with the Municipality of Sotiras estimating that the creation of the marina, with a total cost of 220 million euros, will contribute positively to the development of the Sotiras area.
