The "Roswell" case is well known, with the -supposedly- alien who made "doro" in the summer of 1947. A film of a short duration, but many questioned its authenticity. It thus ended up being another inexplicable mystery and enigma of research and search… But it seems that a similar case like "Roswell" once unfolded in Cyprus! In fact, in Cyprus before the Turkish invasion, in the year 1973. It all started some years ago, when an English soldier, Tom Clark, who served in the British bases of the island, said some very strange things in public!

In particular, he said that one night in 1973 (he does not say the exact date), and while he was in a normal night exercise routine, he saw something that indelibly marked his life. He specifically saw a UFO crashing on the mountains of Troodos on Megalonisos! Clark first spoke about the shocking event in the monthly UFO Monthly magazine in 2005. He outlined the following. He was then, in 1973, dean. He served in the British bases of Akrotiri in Cyprus. One night, in a routine night exercise, he was chosen to be one of a group of a total of 8 people: 6 soldiers, a sergeant and a senior officer. Their mission is to set up an observatory on the Troodos Mountains and to inform about the progress of their mission.

Clark told the UFO Monthly: "We had settled there overnight. Everyone was saying how clear the sky was and that you could see the millions of stars. Watchtowers were placed and the rest of us lay down to sleep as much as we could. We all woke up at 2 o'clock in the morning from a bright, dazzling, bluish light. At first we thought it was a helicopter looking for us or something. What happened next is difficult to explain. There was no explosion, but we were all struck by something, which I would only describe as a shock wave, that threw us all down to earth. The light just disappeared. Immediately we all got a defensive line, thinking we were being attacked, and I remember I was very scared. We had all been lying down, apparently for hours, in complete silence, waiting for something to happen next. We could not see anything "…

And Clark continues his description: "The blue light did not make any noise, but it was visible for 7-8 minutes and there was neither arrival nor departure for the light. For a second he was there, the next he was already gone. The shock wave was extremely strong and there was no explosion noise on the mountain. Shortly afterwards, as we were lying down, the first sound I heard was the voice of a sergeant in a different position. "After a while, the captain met with the rest of the group and instructed the soldiers to stay at the crash site as he and the sergeant would move forward and reconnoiter the area."

Clark then says: "After an hour, the two of them came back and said they saw a boat crash. "They also told us that they had passed the information to the base before they came back to us and that we had to stay there as a rescue team and that the base's lookout staff were on their way and we had to help secure the area and collect any debris."

Clark, in addition to his impressive testimony, gave to the public a blueprint depicting the crash site of the mysterious ship. Where it had crashed it resulted in the creation of a crater with a diameter of about 70 meters. The curious thing is that although the collision of the boat on the mountain was violent, nevertheless no explosion was heard and probably the shock wave was created due to the crash.

Even more bizarre is what Clark said after his testimony: "The helicopters that came to pick up the wreckage were without insignia and people in black, and in particular all-black uniforms without any visible insignia, got out of them and unloaded storage cargo. We were allowed to be at the site where all the large pieces of debris had been removed from the area. "Our job, as we were told, was to investigate the area from anything we thought belonged to the crash site and if we found something, we would put it in something that looked like huge industrial bins."

Clark continues in another part of his interesting story: "I picked up a piece that looked like coal to me, but on the one hand it had something that looked like a gold-tiled surface and covered it all. After placing the object in the bucket, I noticed that two pieces of the golden substance stuck to my hands and I placed another piece securely on my wedding ring. I managed to put these three pieces in the front pocket of my military sweater. After a few hours a report was announced and we were all ordered to stand in line, where we were given strict recommendations not to take anything from the area and not to talk about the incident under any circumstances, because if we did we would be referred to a military court. "Then we all left the area by helicopter, but we were transferred not to our base, but to the English base in Dhekelia."

According to Clark, the following happened there: "On one side, something like a ballot box was set up. Immediately after, we were all interrogated separately. I was asked to describe exactly what I had seen and what I had done at the crash site, and I was warned again not to discuss the events with anyone. "After the individual interrogations, we all gathered together and were never told to reveal anything we saw or did that day, because if we did it as active members of the army, we would be accused of treason and shot!"

Of course the soldiers, 6 in number, who were together that strange night were scattered here and there… They never saw each other again! So what happened in Cyprus that night in 1973? Is this a UFO crash? Who were the men in black (Men in black!) Who carefully collected the material from the rubble? Why are the findings of British investigations still top secret? Something very strange happened then in Troodos!
