Recipe: Cold drink with hibiscus and pineapple

A very interesting "soft drink" from Sudan, flavored with hibiscus, pineapple and ginger. Served plain or with ice. It also goes well with rum, vodka or gin.

A very interesting "soft drink" from Sudan, flavored with hibiscus, pineapple and ginger. Served plain or with ice. It also goes well with rum, vodka or gin.

Procedure

  1. To make the extract, leave the hibiscus tea, ie the dried leaves of the plant in 1 liter of cold water for 2-3 hours and strain it (or leave it in boiling water for 7-10 minutes, strain it and leave it to cool).
  2. In a blender, beat half a diced pineapple with the hibiscus extract, ginger and sugar. Strain the mixture through a fine strainer and serve in glasses.

Secrets

Because hibiscus extract is quite sour, the recipe has enough sugar. You can adjust it according to your taste or experiment with another sweetener.
