A 19-year-old student returns home from the tutoring center where she attends courses for the entrance exams in the Public Sector. A group of young men attack her, forcibly transporting her to a deserted location near the railway tracks. They rape her for hours and, as it turned out, take breaks for cigarettes and tea. When they are tired and have lost their interest, they leave her seriously injured near a clump of bushes very close to the Police Department of the area. The girl mobilizes all her forces and manages to reach the AT where she informs the authorities about her rape and communicates with her family. Both of her parents are police officers.

One could say that the most traumatic part of the adventure is over. The girl, however, lives in New Bhopal, Central India. A country where the rape of minors and adults has taken on frightening proportions as well as beyond any reasonable refusal by law enforcement to address the problem - to the point where it can be described as disguise - as we have seen dozens of times with similar sad and outrageous rape stories are made public.

The story of the 19-year-old does not escape this pathogenesis. For days, neither of the two police stations located near the area where the heinous crime took place proceeded to compile and submit a relevant report on the incident… because they disagreed as to who in whose jurisdiction the place where the girl was raped falls.

Eventually, one of the two police departments recorded the incident, having of course wasted critical 24 hours. Four people were arrested, under pressure from the public and activists, and one of the perpetrators was found guilty after being accused of killing his daughter when he was still an infant. However, he was out with a suspension.

But again, the adventure of the 19-year-old was not over as according to information, one of the officers handling the case accused the victim of "fabricating" her complaint.

The whole affair has shocked the local community. Parliament's Human Rights Committee has called for an inquiry into the police's attitude, while the opposition accuses the government of failing to enforce law and order, and the Minister for Women and Children's Affairs says such crimes should be punishable by death. penalty.
