"Let the dances keep": When Chinese women sang Savvopoulos for the 200 years since the Revolution of 1821

The Chinese They have a particular weakness in Greece and they prove it both with their visits and with the songs they perform.

Forty children from China moved earlier today during the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics, when they sang in fluent Greek Olympic Anthem.

As it became known, it took only three months to learn the lyrics of the Olympic Anthem, which has been set to music by Spyros Samaras and the lyrics were written by Kostis Palamas.

But this was not the first time that the Chinese show how much they love our country and how beautifully they can perform songs with greek lyrics.

Last year and on the occasion of the completion of 200 years since Revolution of 1821, Chinese professors and students from Shanghai University of International Studies and Guangdong University of International Studies, sang Diosini Savvopoulos and… "Let the dances keep" - that is, the song chosen by the Commission "Greece 2021", to "dress" the celebrations musically.
