New measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus and in the shadow of the arrival of the "Omicron" mutation in Cyprus, decided today the Council of Ministers.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers ended shortly before 12:00 noon, however, announcements by the Minister of Health, Michalis Hadjipandelas, are expected around 13:30.
According to information, the suggestions that were presented today before the Minister concern mainly additional restrictions on unvaccinated but also measures regarding the detection of cases of the "Omicron" mutation.
Specifically, according to information, the following suggestions were made before the Minister:
Exclusion of unvaccinated citizens from more activities, such as weddings and baptisms.
Exceptions to exclusions for children 12-17, who are expected to be allowed to enter the premises if accompanied by a vaccinated parent.
Mandatory self-restraint of vaccinated citizens when they come in contact with a case, who will be released after undergoing a PCR test, with a negative indication
- State quarantine in "Omicron" cases.
- Vaccination of children 5-11 years.
