"Catastrophic" characterizes the Secretary of the Association of Owners of Leisure Centers of Paphos (SIKAP) George Solomou the measures taken by those responsible for stopping the pandemic and calls for relaxation. 60% of businesses in the sector have closed while a 70% reduction in operations is recorded in those that remain open, he says.

Mr. Solomou notes in a relevant announcement that with the measures against him COVID-19 "The restaurant area has become so seriously ill" while he speaks of "harmful and catastrophic losses". Many companies have suspended their operations, he says, while calling on those in charge to find solutions and to announce some relaxations immediately. In many countries, severe restrictive and catering measures have been lifted, he added.

The support of the industry in this final plan is "non-existent", he adds, with the result that "60% of the companies have closed all over Cyprus and those that are open record a reduction of their work by 70%". He also says that many companies have closed, with no plans to reopen in the future.

SIKAP still calls on those in charge to "save what is saved" even the last one in view of the new tourist year
