Ingredients
- 500 gr. flour (prefer the one with the indication for buns)
- 20 gr. dry yeast
- 1/2 cup tea milk
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten, plus extra for brushing
- 50 gr. powdered sugar
- Grate 2 oranges
- 2 tbsp. Mahalepi
- 75 gr. softened butter
Implementation
step 1
Mix the flour, yeast and a pinch of salt in the mixer bucket with a dough hook, form a puddle in the center and set aside.
step 2
Add the milk, eggs, sugar, orange zest, machete and 100 ml of lukewarm water and mix until it becomes a soft dough (5-7 minutes). Gradually add the butter, stirring until a smooth soft dough is formed (3-5 minutes).
step 3
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap and set aside until doubled in volume (40 minutes - 1 hour).
step 4
Once the dough is puffed, divide it into 3 pieces, open into "ribbons" and form a braid or a wreath of braid. Place in a greased baking tray and set aside for about 20 minutes.
step 5
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, grease the bun with egg and bake until golden brown (25-30 minutes).
