Another success for Audi in the crash tests of the independent European organization EuroNCAP. This time for the new Audi Q3 where it won the highest distinction of five stars. More specifically, the Audi Q3 earned five safety stars, scoring 95% in adult occupant protection, 86% in child protection, 76% in pedestrian protection and 85% in safety systems.
The passenger compartment of the Audi Q3 offers absolute safety as it remained stable during the frontal collision, while the knees and thighs of the driver and front passenger had very good protection.
The protection of the chest was adequate and no problem was encountered. It provided very good protection during lateral impact on an obstacle with the front and rear seats together with their head restraints provide good protection to the neck.
The same for the protection of minor passengers aged 6 and 10 years in frontal and lateral impact while the passenger airbag can be deactivated for the installation of a child seat. The automatic braking system of the new Q3 detects pedestrians and cyclists, managing to avoid the collision or to mitigate its consequences.
The Audi Q3 is already in its second generation and is about to make its appearance at the Unicars showrooms soon. With a host of design changes, the new Audi Q3 has grown in almost all its dimensions while it has a host of advanced technologies and is offered in two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive versions.
Its length reaches 4.485 millimeters and is 97 millimeters longer than the previous one, while its width has increased by 25 millimeters, thus reaching 1.856 millimeters. On the contrary, it is five millimeters lower, giving it a more dynamic presentation. But the most important thing is the increase of the wheelbase by 77 mm which ensures larger spaces for driver and passengers. The interior is characterized by luxury and ergonomics with Audi technologically equipping it with the most modern in its quiver in the field of comfort and safety.
At launch, the Q3 will be offered in four versions: three petrol and one diesel combined with front-wheel drive or quattro four-wheel drive and power ranges from 150 to 230 hp.
