Who was Frank Sheeran?

The problem with Hofa, however, was that he used mafia practices to do his job. It is no coincidence that many of the strikes he announced during his rule were "targeted" to pressure specific employers and serve the interests of the Teamsters.
Beyond that, however, Hofa did not hesitate to make deals with mafia and organized crime. They protected him and he financed him. Until Hofa started to get out of control and gained a lot of enemies. He was convicted and sent to prison for embezzlement. During his presidency, Nixon won his freedom on the condition that he stay away from the union. He did not comply and tried to be re-elected president. Before the union members could go to the polls, however, Hofa disappeared. The last person he spoke to was his wife.
Hoffa had gone to a restaurant outside Detroit to meet three men. When he saw that they were late, he called her and told her that if they did not show up in the next few minutes, he would leave. After a while, eyewitnesses saw Hofa get in a car and leave with three men. No one has seen him since.
It is said that he had an appointment with members of the mafia. The names heard a lot. Nothing was proven. Hofa's body was never found. Nor, of course, who killed him. The police, however, consider him officially dead since 1982. They say that those who killed him buried him in the foundations of the Giants stadium or where the Detroit highway is today.
