Is there anything worse for a woman than her partner calling her "grumpy"?
From what it seems, there is: to leave her because she can no longer bear it! This was done by 62-year-old Malcolm Applegate from Birmingham, who, having "puffed" by his wife's murmur, left home and hid in the woods… ..for 10 whole years.
Now, before we declare him the "worst husband of all time", let's try to hear his side as well. Mr. Applegate claims that he and his wife have been married for 3 years, when she started to disagree with him very often because of the many hours he spent at work (he is a gardener).
When Mrs Applegate demanded that she reduce her working hours, Mr Applegate chose to leave her… .. Only he never told her.
"For 3 years everything was fine. And suddenly when my job started to be a problem for her, I got up and left. "I could no longer bear her whining," he said.
This story sounds like a comedy set, as shortly after Applegate left home, his bicycle was stolen, so he took refuge in the woods and stayed in a tent with two other people near south London. In the meantime he continued to work as a gardener.
"We were 3 people camping in the woods," Applegate said. "I worked in the center and we went there for a bath and for washing clothes. "Nobody knew we lived in the forest, nobody came there."
The paradox is that he stayed there for 10 whole years. And not only did he not tell his wife where he was, but he also did not tell anyone else, relative or friend. He lost contact with his sister, who had been looking for him for years in hostels and shelters and feared he was dead. Now, according to Fox News, they have reconnected after a letter he sent her.
Applegate, who has now moved to a homeless shelter in south London, does not seem to have regretted his 10-year disappearance from his marriage.
"I was with her for 3 years, but unfortunately she gave up a lot," he said. Not a word if he intends to see her again or talk to her - although we believe that she will not be in the mood to reconnect.
