In Messinia and specifically in Paliochora Avias, the 62-year-old Vangelis Kitsikopoulos, a member of the legendary Olympians, breathed his last and even unexpectedly.
Vangelis Kitsikopoulos was killed yesterday morning (15-10-2017) in an accident at his home in Messinia. More specifically, the unfortunate guitarist of the legendary band was performing earthworks near his house. Under the circumstances that are still being investigated, the machine (Bobcat type) he was driving overturned, injuring him very badly by hitting him in the chest, resulting in a short time after he ended up.
The 62-year-old was a contractor by profession, while during his presence at the Olympians, he played guitar and sang.
Although he was one of the key members of the Olympians, he was not a founding member. Paschalis Arvanitidis appeared shocked shortly after the tragic news, uploading a farewell text along with photos:
"I can not believe it. I met Vangelis Kitsikopoulos when he was studying Civil Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He was a regular visitor to the club where we performed.
