Ice cream in the summer, without a doubt, is the sweet temptation that no matter what you want, you will hardly resist it. You give in, with regrets most of the time for the calories you will take.

However, if you consume it carefully and without exaggeration, you will not need to worry about how many calories you will take in and if this will affect your weight.

The energy value of an ice cream ranges from 75 to 240 calories per 100 grams and provides carbohydrates, proteins, fats, as well as significant amounts of calcium, phosphorus and vitamin A in the body.

The types of ice cream on the market are divided into standard and "bulk". As for the standard ones, they are available in a cup, cone or stick, granitas, fruit sorbets and those that are characterized as dietary or 0% type.

Granites and sorbets are the ideal choice for those who care about their weight as they provide the fewest calories compared to all other available flavors of ice cream. In recent years, however, diet ice creams or 0% type have occupied a significant space in store refrigerators. They contain sugar substitutes (eg aspartame, sorbitol or maltodextrose) instead of sugar and little or no fat, which makes them especially popular with people who want to maintain a lean figure. But in addition to the nutrients that ice cream provides, and makes its lovers happy, there are other factors that require a prudent consumption. It has its calories and its high consumption can lead to weight gain. Great attention should be paid to fats and especially to saturated fatty acids and cholesterol, factors that can have a detrimental effect on the functioning of the cardiovascular system.

When it comes to bulk ice cream, those with a chocolate flavor have a higher fat content than vanilla, while fruit flavors provide fewer calories. Particular attention needs to be paid to parfait ice creams, which are superior in fat and therefore in calories.
