CYPRUS: Again in pharmacies children's antipyretic Calpol after four months

Free Calpol for children

The adequacy of Calpol children's antipyretic syrup has been restored, after the lack of which has been observed for a period of more than four months in all pharmacies in Cyprus.

As we are informed, the company GLAXOSMITHKLINE (GSK), which is the local representative and distributor of the drug in Cyprus, has procured since last Friday all the pharmacies with the antipyretic - analgesic drug for infants, toddlers and children.

In fact, the demand for this particular preparation was so great that in some cases Calpol disappeared from the shelves of pharmacies, immediately after its reappearance. However, the drug distribution company reassures parents that there will be no problem again, as new batches of Calpol have been introduced on the way to distribution in pharmacies. Therefore, it is considered certain that the market will be fully normalized by tomorrow at the latest.

It is recalled that Calpol has been in a pan-Cypriot deficit since last October and despite the fact that there are exchanges, the shortage has caused discomfort.

It is noted that Calpol, like all antipyretic drugs, is not included in the list of drugs that are prescribed free of charge in the context of GESS.
