Swimming and sunbathing are a favorite summer habit but especially women should be especially careful about hygiene.
Great care is needed with wet swimwear as the heat during the summer months combined with the humidity increase the risk of fungal growth in the genital area. Experts advise to avoid this and especially warn women with a history of fungal infections.
Even more meticulousness is needed when women bathe in a pool because the chemical residues trapped inside the wet swimsuit may upset the balance of bacteria in the vagina. Experts therefore recommend that you take a shower and take off your wet swimsuit as soon as you swim in the sea or pool, replacing it with a dry one.
Do not neglect it and do not sunbathe with the wet because you increase the risks for infection. If you still have any symptoms such as itching or increased vaginal discharge, consult your doctor.
