An operation was carried out by the Police of the British Bases regarding a drug case, in the area of Dasaki Achnas, based on a search warrant.
The 50-year-old man from Dasaki Achnas, in whose house drugs, money and antiquities were allegedly found, is expected to appear before the Court of the British Bases of Decelia today.
In a statement from the British Bases, it is stated that the man was arrested yesterday by the Police on suspicion of drug-trafficking offences.
It is added that in the home of the 50-year-old, the police officers of the Bases, located and confiscated a significant amount of money and a large quantity of drugs believed to be cannabis. Also, a collection of antiquities and a small amount of substance "believed to be cocaine" were located and confiscated.
The substances have been sent for laboratory analysis, while the man will appear tomorrow before the Decelia Court for the issuance of a restraining order, it added.
The announcement also states that the arrest of the 50-year-old was the result of close cooperation between the Bases Police and the Cyprus Police.
