The Community Council, which met tonight in a long meeting, did not take a decision to create a crocodile park in Dasaki Achna.
As the Commonwealth of Achna Forest Nikos Vassilas stated to KYPE, "the Community Council did not take a decision tonight on the issue of licensing a multi-theme crocodile park within the borders of the refugee community".
He added that "the Community Council unanimously decided to ask the Famagusta District Governor George Chrysafinis to convene a meeting of all relevant government agencies, in the presence of the company that wants to create the crocodile park and the Community Council, so that all views are heard in detail. positive and negative. Then a new meeting of the Community Council will be held in order to take the final decision ".
Mr. Vassilas sent the message to the inhabitants of the Achna Forest "that the Community Council at present has not taken a positive or negative attitude towards the issue".
It is noted that the company (Israeli and Cypriot interests) showed interest in creating a crocodile park in Dasaki Achnas, after the rejection of a proposal by the Community of Psematismenos, which cited, among other reasons, public security and the Municipality of Athienou, which did not respond.
The company's proposal concerns the creation of a theme park that will include about 150 crocodiles. The location for a possible creation of the park is located on the old road Larnaca - Famagusta, in the area between the Achna Forest and Vrysoullos, in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
