Under the title "Remember Famagusta, ENA MHNYMA, MIA KPAYΓH, ENA XPEOΣ" a special event was held yesterday - a meeting with the Ambassadors and Plenipotentiaries of the member states of the European Union and the United Nations in Cyprus.
The ultimate purpose of the meeting was to inform them about Famagusta and to convey to the governments of their countries the desire to return.
The whole event, as the Municipality of Famagusta states in a relevant announcement, was an initiative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Christodoulidis.
The Mayor of Famagusta, Simos Ioannou, addressed a greeting, who developed the political positions of the Municipality regarding Famagusta, which are based on the resolutions of the United Nations.
Anna Marangou undertook to present the historical background and timeless significance of Famagusta, while then the three generations of the Papathoma family spoke, father, son and grandson who through personal experiences managed to convey to the attendees loud messages of unity and desire for return.
