The Cyprus University of Technology and the Municipality of Famagusta invite you to a press conference to present the topic entitled "Campaign of TPK and the Municipality of Famagusta to create a photo archive". During the presentation a cooperation protocol will be signed between the two members.
Η Library of the University of Technology, in the context of corporate social responsibility, and wanting to contribute to the preservation of the memory of our occupied homeland and the preservation of our cultural heritage, offers its infrastructure and know-how for the creation of a photographic archive for the province of Famagusta.
The specific effort started with the Municipality of Lefkonikos through the utilization of the trends of the time and the use of social networks, specifically Facebook.
Logic is based on the concept of crowdfunding, where the crowd voluntarily participates in a collective effort to complete a public benefit project. In this endeavor, the help of the public is divided into two stages, first in the addition and annotation of the photographic material and then with the creation of a group which will edit the material for the creation of the photographic archive. The material is then transferred to a special photo editing program. After editing the material can be searched by title, description, topic or keywords.
