A family tragedy unfolded yesterday afternoon, in the sea area of occupied Famagusta, where four people died due to the sea turmoil, while a child is hospitalized.
According to the Turkish Cypriot media, the five-member family went to the sea of occupied Famagusta, where the rushing waters dragged to death two parents and two of their three children.
The victims are 48-year-old Ramadan Katrici, 40-year-old Filiz Katrici, 18-year-old Merve Katrici and 13-year-old Mert Katrici, while the fifth member of the family, a XNUMX-year-old girl, was rescued by a fisherman who located the family.
The XNUMX-year-old girl was rushed to a hospital of the occupiers, where she is being treated in a serious condition.
To retrieve the victims, the occupying authorities set up a large operation, with the participation of the "coast guard", private ships, as well as air means.
