A fourth company in the occupied territories has applied for PDO halloumi

The Turkish Chamber of Commerce aims to trade halloumi with the free regions of the Republic of Cyprus and with European countries, while a fourth company in the occupied territories has submitted an application for PDO halloumi.

According to the Press and Information Office, "Cyprus" writes that the deputy general secretary of the chamber, Mustafa Ergouven, said that "the trade of halloumi to the free areas of the Republic of Cyprus will contribute significantly to the economy" of the occupied. He also spoke about the prospect of selling halloumi in Europe.

He also stated that 3 halloumi producers in the occupied territories are entitled to receive the certificate of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), while the application of a 4th company has been submitted and its control is expected.
