Another important project is starting soon in Ayia Napa! Creating Universally Accessible Free Multi-Space "CYCLES OF HISTORY"
on Island Avenue in Ayia Napa
They were signed yesterday, Tuesday, October 25, 2022, between the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannettos, and the Managing Director of the Contractor Company, S. Hadjichristofi Construction Ltd, Mr. Spyros Hatzichristofis, in the presence of the Municipal Engineer of the Municipality, Ms. Yolanda Papanikolaou, and the First Secretary of the Municipality, Ms. Marias Ktoridou the contracts for the construction of a Park on Leoforou Nissi Avenue.
It is a completely new park located in a privileged location in a central part of the city, on Nisi Avenue, the largest road axis of the Municipality. In this space, the planning foresees the zoning of square, recreation, culture and play uses, so that the park becomes a living, life-size, interactive and accessible cultural tourist guide of the city, while at the same time being an outdoor play and learning space for people of all of ages and abilities. The space was designed according to the principles of universal design, to create an environment that "gives birth" to play conditions for people of different abilities, ages, nationality, gender, education and socio-economic status.
As the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannettou, stated in his statements after the signing of the contracts, this is a very important project, which will connect the shopping street "Leoforos Nisi" with the parallel street near the City Hall, "Yuri Gagarin" and includes 35 parking spaces, three disabled parking spaces, in addition there will be one parking space for cars transporting people in wheelchairs, green areas, recycling points with semi-submersible bins, seats, reference points and games related to the history of Ayia Napa and other facilities for the public.
"Despite the difficult conditions" he said "we are still experiencing due to external factors we continue to implement projects that will make Ayia Napa a modern and functional city, upgrade its standard of living and at the same time facilitate the daily life of both residents and visitors her".
Based on the terms of the agreement, the project will be completed within nine months and its cost amounts to €700.000,00.
