In a special way and with all the splendor, the Municipality of Ayia Napa will commemorate the Anniversary of October 28, 1940
With the great anniversary event of Remembrance and Honor of the Greek Freedom Struggle and Fighters, which is organized by the Municipality of Agia Napa on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 19:15 at the Municipal Museum "Talassa" in collaboration with the National Kapodistrian University of Athens (E. K.P.A) begin in Ayia Napa, the three-day celebrations for the Anniversary of October 28, 1940.
In the first part of the event, there will be the presentation of two editions of the Cypriot Studies Laboratory (ER.KY.ME) of the Philology Department of the Philosophy School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (E.K.P.A.) "IMATA PANTA, HONORARY VOLUME" which was published with the noble sponsorship of the late Head of Famagusta Pavlos Pavlakis and will be presented by the former President of the Department of Philology Professor Amfilochios Papathomas and "CYPRUS, FREEDOM STRUGGLES IN GREEK HISTORY", which will be presented by the President of the Department of Philology Professor Theodora Antonopoulou.
In the second part, competitive songs will be heard from the four-part, forty-member Mixed Choir of the Department of Music Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Greek Academy of Sciences, accompanied on the piano by conductor, pianist and musicologist Savvas Rakintzakis and directed by the professor of the Department of Music Studies Nikolaos Maliaras.
It will be preceded by a short introduction by the professor of the Department of Music Studies, Achilleas Chaldaiakis, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of the E.K.P.A.
Also, on Thursday, October 27, intra-school and intra-departmental celebrations will be held at the "Antonis Tsokkos" Primary School of Ayia Napa and at the Public Community Kindergarten of Ayia Napa, while on Friday, October 28, the day of the Great National Anniversary, a Doxology will be held at the Panagia Church, where the Celebration of the Day the Assistant Director XNUMX of the Technical School of Paralimni, Mr. Andreas Postatziis, will speak.
Then the Band of the Municipality/Church of Panagia Agia Napa together with the Banners of the Municipality, the Church, the Associations and the Schools will march in the District Parade which will take place at 11.00 am in the Municipality of Paralimni.
