The by-elections in Ayia Napa have been smooth so far.
The polls opened at 7 in the morning and closed for an hour break at 12 noon.
According to the Electoral Commissioner Georgios Chrysafini, until 12:00 pm, 1183 voters exercised their right to vote, a percentage that amounts to 35%.

Of these voters, 947 are Cypriot Cypriots and 236 are Community members.
In his statements to KYPE, Mr. Chrysafinis stated that during the previous election process of the Municipality, the participation rate reached a total of 80% and this percentage is expected to reach today.
The polls will reopen at 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
"The result is expected to be announced around 7:00 pm" said the curator while the announcement will take place around 8:15 pm at Ayia Napa City Hall.
