At 10.20 last night, while a 24-year-old was driving his vehicle on Gianni Ritsou Street in Ayia Napa, under conditions under investigation, he lost control of the vehicle, as a result of which he entered the opposite flow of traffic and collided with a car driven by a 59-year-old.
The 24-year-old was transported by ambulance to the Famagusta General Hospital, where he received first aid and was fired.
The 24-year-old was initially subjected to a preliminary alcohol test with an indication of 85μg% instead of 9μg% and then to a final examination with an indication of 94μg% instead of 9μg% and was arrested and detained.
At the same time, from further examinations, it was found that the 24-year-old was driving without being covered by a safety certificate, with a student driver's license, without being accompanied by a person with a regular driver's license, without a license and without a certificate of suitability.
The Ayia Napa Police Station is investigating the case.
