The Permanent Criminal Court of Larnaca - Famagusta imposed today a 16-year prison sentence on a 22-year-old man, who was found guilty in a case involving the rape of three women in Ayia Napa, a crime committed between April and May 2022.

According to the facts of the case, between the dates of April 18 and the middle of May 2022, the Police in the free province of Famagusta received three complaints from female tourists residing in Ayia Napa, according to which in the morning hours, while walking, being in a state of drunk, an unknown young person, of a specific description, approached them, hugged them and after leading them to dark places, proceeded to rape them.

When interrogated, the 22-year-old admitted the three rapes of the female visitors who filed a complaint, as a result of which he was arrested and the case brought before the Court.

The case was heard by the Permanent Criminal Court of Larnaca - Famagusta, which today, Tuesday, October 25, sentenced the 22-year-old to 16 years in prison.
