The event was held on the evening of Saturday March 23 in Ayia Napa to commemorate the unique Battle that took place in Ayia Napa on March 17, 1826 between the Greek Rebels and the Turkish Guards of Ayia Napa - Famagusta.

With the great event held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, as part of the celebrations for the National Anniversary of March 25, the Municipality of Ayia Napa and the Association "Aroma" Friends of the Sculpture Park of Ayia Napa, honored with all splendor, for the 4th consecutive year, the only Battle that took place in Cyprus between Greek Rebels and Turkish Guards of Ayia Napa - Famagusta on March 17, 1826.

The event took place in the Land Area of ​​the Port, near the Monument, which has been erected in memory of the Battle, and was attended by the Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos.

The program began with the parade of Schools, Associations, Clubs, which paraded together with their Banners and Flags of the Struggle, followed by the lighting of the Flame with the Holy Light from the Virgin Mary of Agia Napa, which was carried to the venue by volunteers runners of the Frogmen Reserve Association, the arrival and hoisting of the 1821 Race Flags, as well as the arrival by sea of ​​the Cypriot Fighters Revolutionary Race 1821 flag by a team of Frogmen Reserve Association swimmers.

Greetings were addressed by the Mayor of Ayia Napa Christos Zannettou, the President of the Association "Aroma" Friends of the Sculpture Park of Ayia Napa Christakis Pittas, and the Former Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus, Professor of History at the University of Neapolis Giorgos Georgis.

An important and historic moment at the event was the signing of the Protocol for the completion of the Twinning process between the Municipality of Ayia Napa and the Municipality of Pogoni, the Municipality to which the Community of Delvinaki belongs, the birthplace of the Leader of the Greek Revolutionaries in the Unique Battle that took place in Ayia Napa on March 17 1826, Hatzimichalis Daliani. Before the signing of the protocol, a video on the subject of the Delvinaki Community was shown.

After the re-enactment of the battle, there followed a rich artistic program with traditional dances and songs by the Dance Club of the Municipality of Agia Napa, the "Kimon" Dance Group of Xylotympos, the "Tradition" Dance Group of Liopetriou, the Cultural Folklore Group of Dasous Achnas, the Cultural Group "Emergence" of Paralimni, the Dance Club "THOI" of Avgoros and from the Dance Club of Pogoni - Epirus Region.
