The 17-year-old African who allegedly raped an 80-year-old woman last December in Ayia Napa will be referred to trial.
The suspect was referred to a trial for the case, after evidence emerged against him that justified the initiation of criminal prosecution. The authorities have in their possession a video detected by closed circuit surveillance, while they called the 80-year-old woman to identify the foreigner.
It is recalled that the case was reported to the Famagusta Police by the elderly woman, who reported that the African man attacked and sexually abused her while she was in Ayia Napa on vacation.
After the complaint, the elderly woman was examined by competent doctors, while the African was also examined.
