The Port and Maritime Police were mobilized when their radar detected on Tuesday boats with irregular immigrants in the maritime area of ​​Cabo Greco.

According to information from the Cyprus News Agency, the first boat was spotted at 14:15, at a distance of 10 nautical miles south-east of Cape Greco, and 76 illegal immigrants were allegedly on board.

The second boat was spotted at 16:20 p.m., 17 nautical miles southeast of Cabo Greco, with 19 irregular migrants reportedly on board, according to the same information.

A Coastal and Maritime Police operation is underway for a third boat which was spotted at 17:30 at a distance of 7 nautical miles southeast of Cabo Greco.

The boat is overloaded and according to the information so far, there are reportedly more than 100 illegal immigrants on board.

The illegal immigrants from the first two boats were safely transported to the Marina of Agia Napa by vessels of the Port and Maritime Police.
