SAINT NAPA: Two arrested for attempted murder

The police tests also yielded testimony against the 39-year-old, who was arrested

Yesterday, the Police arrested two persons, aged 39 and 40, to facilitate investigations regarding an attempted murder case, which was committed in the province of Famagusta last November.

Specifically, around 10.40 p.m. yesterday, members of YKAN, located and stopped for control, a car in which the above persons were riding. The 39-year-old was arrested on a warrant pending against him, while the 40-year-old was arrested for the voluntary offense of aiding and abetting after the commission of a felony. The 39-year-old was taken into custody to facilitate investigations, while the 40-year-old, after being accused in writing, was released to be summoned before the Court.

The case of attempted murder was allegedly committed between November 21 and 22, 2023, however information about the event was given to the Police on November 27. According to the findings of the Police examinations, on the above dates, in an area near the Ayia Napa Marina, shots were fired at a vehicle in which a 34-year-old and a 40-year-old were riding.

From the police examinations, testimony also emerged against the 39-year-old, who was arrested yesterday.

The photo and personal details of the 39-year-old were published by the Police on December 3, 2023, in an attempt to locate him.

After his arrest, further publication of his photo and personal information is unnecessary.
