According to the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Christos Zannetou, the "capital of tourism" declares that he is fighting hard and strong in the fight against the crisis. Christos Zannetou in his greeting yesterday during the dive of the Holy Cross during the feast of the Holy Spirit in Ayia Napa, thanked all the businesses of the city which were put into operation and served the visitors.

This is the message of the Mayor of Ayia Napa:

"During this year, it was not possible to hold the three-day events of the Sanctuary of Ayia Napa, Fish Festival and Water Festival, due to the pandemic of the corona.

As every year for many years, this year, on Holy Monday, a Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the chapel of Agios Georgios in the Port of Agia Napa by the parish of Panagia Agia Napa.

There were boats where a Holy Communion was held for the faithful, the boats and the sea waters of the area. The ceremony was enriched with a flyboard show. At the end of the ceremony, traditional music and chants followed.

We thank all those who preferred to spend the three days of the Flood in Ayia Napa.

I would also like to thank all the staff of our Municipality who worked during these three days, making every effort to serve all visitors to Ayia Napa.

It would be an omission not to thank all the companies that, despite the difficult conditions and the difficult summer period due to a pandemic, functioned normally, serving the whole world.

I also thank the church of Panagia Agia Napa, the owners of the boats as well as the musicians and folk poets.

Friends, surely like the whole world, the whole of Cyprus, and especially the tourism capital of Ayia Napa, is fighting and strong in the fight against the crisis. "
