Extensive damage to a car by arson in Ayia Napa

A car in Ayia Napa suffered extensive damage from arson, according to Police.

As reported, around 22.45 last night, information was received by the Famagusta Fire Department that a car was seen burning in a field located in the Red Cliff area of ​​Ayia Napa.

Men of the Famagusta Fire Department went to the scene, who managed to put out the fire.

Members of the Famagusta Police Department and the Ayia Napa Police Station also rushed to the scene. Preliminary examinations carried out revealed that the car is owned by a 33-year-old man from Dromolaxia, who had reported it as stolen on October 17, 2017 at the Aradippou Police Station.

The car, the value of which amounts to 700 euros, suffered extensive damage from the fire.

The scene was cordoned off and guarded throughout the night and today men from the Police, the Fire Brigade and the Electromechanical Service will conduct examinations to determine the causes of the fire.

The case is being investigated by the Ayia Napa Police Station.
