The opening ceremony of the International Archery Games in the Province of Famagusta was successfully held last night at the Community Frenaro Stadium with the participation of 7 countries and 150 athletes, coaches, volunteers and actors.
In his speech, the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Giannis Karousos, referred to the importance of the event, the various activities of the Municipality of Ayia Napa, the plans that the municipality has for the future Archery facilities and that it will be close to the Cyprus Archery Federation in even bigger events. .
The mayor of Frenaros, Michalis Hatzigiorkas, greeted the whole event, thanked the Cyprus Federation, the Community Council of Frenaros, as well as the volunteers who will make this great event possible.
The President of the Cyprus Archery Federation, Andreas Theofylaktou also thanked his council, the volunteers, the Municipality of Ayia Napa for the hospitable reception of the games, as well as the community council of Frenaros who trusted his vision and support.
The opening ceremony of the international archery competition "Aphrodite Mediterranean Cup" was announced by the Secretary of the Council of Ministers, Theodosis Tsiolas.
The girls from the Frenarou Olympics gymnastics show stole the show with their impressive choreography and colorful costumes.
The program also included traditional and Greek dances from the Frenaros Cultural Club.
The official start of the Aphrodite Mediterranean Cup, started today at the Community Stadium of Frenaros from 9:5 in the morning until XNUMX in the afternoon.
The closing ceremony and the finals of all categories will take place in the port of Ayia Napa on November 4 from 14.30 until 18.00.
It is worth noting that on Friday afternoon an archery seminar will be held at the Sea Museum of the Municipality of Ayia Napa, while on Sunday there will be a large acquaintance excursion to Famagusta.
