With determination and hard work, the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Giannis Karousos, promised that the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works will take over during the handover-receipt ceremony by the outgoing Minister, Vasiliki Anastasiadou.
Handing over the portfolio of the Ministry of Transport, Ms. Anastasiadou stated that in the last 21 months she has spent all her energy to complete the task assigned to her by President Anastasiadis and stressed that it was a special honor for her to be assigned the portfolio of the Ministry of Transport.
"This is a very demanding Ministry that has as its object issues related to the daily needs of citizens," said Vasiliki Anastasiadou.
She then gave a brief overview of the projects that were completed or launched under her Ministry, with particular reference to the promotion of public transport reform.
Ms. Anastasiadou expressed the appreciation that in the 21 months of her presence at the Ministry of Transport an important project was carried out and stressed that she never had or has any political ambition, pointing out that her only ambition was to produce work aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens.
She also made no secret of her dissatisfaction with the recent gossip about the reshuffle, saying that prolonged gossip undermines government work. "I have to admit that what was psychopathic and indigestible for me was the constant references to my name in the prolonged gossip of the last months for reform. "This is something that undermines the work of a minister and the government in general," she said. Anastasiadou.
Ms. Anastasiadou did not fail to thank her close associates and directors and heads of departments and other ministries for their collective effort and valuable assistance throughout this time.
Receiving the portfolio of the Ministry of Transport, Giannis Karousos first thanked the President of the Republic for the honor of entrusting him with the helm of the Ministry of Transport and expressed the hope that with hard work and method he will be able to achieve the goals set by Chairman.
Finally, he wished good luck to Vasiliki Anastasiadou.
