The Municipality of Ayia Napa today honored the heroic sacrifice of one of its three young men, Lucas Lucas, who in the most beautiful years of his life, youthful carelessness, dreams and optimism faded into the inexhaustible passion for freedom.
Only at the age of 17 did he raise his boy and remain very consistent with the historical encounter of his time. Drunk with the desire for freedom and the honor of the homeland, he vigorously proposed his Greek valor, defying the best.
The hero Loukas Loukas, was brutally beaten and horribly tortured by the English colonialists, leaving a few hours later in Famagusta Hospital, on October 3, 1958, his last breath.
The memorial service was followed by a trishagio at the bust of the hero, laying of wreaths and an artistic program by Sebastiana Nourou on Piano and Pantelina Paschali singing and by the children of the Primary School of Ayia Napa "Antonis Tsokkos". Athletes of the Pericles Demetriou Association lit a flame at the monument of the hero.
