The residents of Ayia Napa and free Famagusta in general are relieved to see the demolition of the antennas in Cape Greco.

The antennas, which have been used since the 70s as radios to broadcast in the Middle East, have been shut down for the past two years, paving the way for their demolition and solving a long-standing problem faced by its inhabitants. both in terms of visual pollution and in terms of its effects on public health.

According to the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Christos Zannetou, the electromagnetic field that existed through these antennas was so large that surely the decision to stop the operation of this antenna removal station is positive, both for the people of Ayia Napa and for the whole of Cyprus.

Demolition work on the antennas is expected to begin in the near future, while the antennas will be removed using explosives.
