Around 15:40, the Larnaca KSED received information that a small boat with 26 people was drifting unmanned in the sea area 16 NM Northeast of Cape Greco, where adverse weather conditions prevailed.
The KSED activated the National Search and Rescue Plan "NEARCHOS", mobilizing the Akato "ODYSSEUS" of the Port and Maritime Police which towed the unmanned vessel to the Fishing Shelter "Golden Coast", in Paralim.
All the involved services of the Republic were informed about the further management of the rescued and their actions of competence, as provided in the National Special Plan "NAFKRATIS" of the Ministry of Interior.
