Ayia Napa entered the final straight for the ballot box. More than three thousand voters are called tomorrow to elect the new mayor of the tourist municipality.

There are two candidates running for mayor: Deputy Mayor Christos Zannetou and municipal councilor Emilia Evangelou Xydia.

In his statements to KYPE, the Prefect of Famagusta and Election Commissioner George Chrysafinis stated that the voting hours for tomorrow's by-elections are from 7:00 am. until 6:00 p.m., with a break from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.

"We expect, he said, because it concerns a specific electoral process that around 7:00 pm we will have the result. The announcement is scheduled to take place around 08:15 pm at the City Hall of Ayia Napa ".

3.334 voters have the right to participate in the by-elections, of which 2.687 are Cypriots and 647 are Community voters, which will be distributed in 4 polling stations.

"Voters," Mr. Chrysafinis explained, "in order to exercise their right to vote, they must have with them their ballot paper or their identity card or the document they used for their registration, in order for Community voters," he said. .

For their convenience, Community voters are encouraged to bring with them the Union Citizen Registration Certificate (MEU1) or the Alien Registration Certificate.

He called on the people of Ayia Napa to go to the polls, and the candidates themselves to persuade their own voters to exercise their right.
