Free wireless internet access (Wifi) in five public areas of Ayia Napa (City Hall, Museum "Sea", Agios Georgios Square, Limanaki Square and Greek High School area) will be available to citizens and visitors after the signing of the agreement, on Thursday, March 6 , by the Mayor of Ayia Napa Mr. Christos Zannettou and the CEO of Spectrum Mr. Dimitris Dimitriou for the implementation of the European WiFi4EU program.

With the WiFi4EU initiative, the Municipality of Ayia Napa received funding of 15.000,00 euros for the installation of the necessary equipment that aims for citizens to take full advantage of the possibilities of digitization. As pointed out by Mr. Dimitriou, the equipment that will be used is of the latest technology and can be applied in the future for "Smart City" services such as "Smart Parking", "Location Services", "Waste Management" etc.

After the signing of the agreement, the Mayor Mr. Christos Zannettou expressed his satisfaction, emphasizing that through the implementation of this European Program the Municipality of Ayia Napa is digitally upgraded while receiving provisions for the development of other services that currently use "smart cities" in other countries.
