An amount of 900 thousand euros was spent to complete the 4th phase of upgrading and improving the road network of Deryneia with pavements and asphalt pavements of roads with a total length of nine kilometers.
In a statement from the Municipality of Deryneia, it is stated that "in total, the 4th phase of asphalt paving covered approximately sixty streets with a total cost of 900 thousand euros. Part of the amount was granted as a special grant to the Municipality of Deryneia by the former Minister of Transport, Communications and Works a year ago and the remaining amount was covered by the treasury of the Municipality of Deryneia", it is reported.
It is noted that "with the completion of the last phase of asphalt paving, the Municipality of Deryneia has spent an amount of 2,2 million euros to improve and upgrade the road network. The four application phases took place in 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2023/24 and covered a total of approximately 27 kilometers of roads.'
What remains, it is added, is "the paving of the road network that will be affected by the reconstruction works of the Deryneia - Sotira road and the improvement of the Deryneia - Frenarous road, which will be carried out by the state. There is still a relevant request from the Municipality of Deryneia for the inclusion of the road that connects the Municipality of Deryneia with the community of Frenarous in the urban planning projects carried out by the Government".
