The Mayor of Deryneia, Andros Karagiannis, has given an answer for his inclusion in the "Giorkatzi List" through his personal account on a Social Networking Media.
As is his Statement:
On Friday 29.1.2021 I was informed by Social Media that both my name and my wife's name are included in the famous list of Giorkatzi. To restore the truth, I clarify that:
1. Regarding the mortgage loan, which I took out with my wife, it was restructured at the beginning of 2018, the installments are paid normally and since then the loan is serviced.
2. My name is included in unpaid accounts of the Development Company of Larnaca - Famagusta Province Ltd, in which I was a member of the Board of Directors from April 2017 until my resignation in June 2019, requesting that my name be removed from the list of Directors in the Department Registrar of Companies and Official Recipient.
3. On Friday 29.1.2021 I submitted the declaration "Assets as provided by the Law on Certain Publicly Exposed Persons and Certain Officials of the Republic of Cyprus (Declaration and Control of Property), which was requested by the Three-Member Council for control of both assets. of my own as well as of my wife and our minor children.
As a politically exposed person, I declare that I will continue to serve the citizens from the position of Mayor with transparency, selflessness, consistency, purity, with clean hands and a clean forehead.
