With the slogan "Women demand Reunification - Return - Peace" and reacting strongly to Turkey's actions to colonize the occupied, enclosed area of Famagusta, the women's organizations of Cyprus, trade unions, social platforms and other personalities are organizing a large of these Turkish actions, on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at 3 in the afternoon, at the Deryneia roadblock.
Having in our hearts the region that - remaining silent and deserted for 46 years of Turkish occupation - symbolizes the desire and struggle for liberation of all occupied cities and villages of our homeland, the women of Cyprus are protesting for reunification, return and peace , we call for the resumption of negotiations for a comprehensive solution and call on all and all to unite our voices "for the soil we walked and the land we long for."
With our mass presence and protest, the women of Cyprus can and must once again send a strong message of condemnation to the Turkish side for preventing its plans and actions, but also a message to the UN, the European Union and the entire international community for dynamic response and effective intervention.
The women of Cyprus have proved many times in the past that we can, united and determined, fight and send the message to the whole world that the Cypriot people are resisting and fighting for reunification, return and peace.
Let us be present en masse on October 25, at the roadblock of Deryneia.
For Famagusta and for every occupied city and every occupied village of our homeland.
