"We are ready. What remains is to find that the other side is technically ready, and not only that.

Because there is an agreement that in order for the Deryneia roadblock to work, the Turkish army outpost will have to be moved. As far as I know, from the Turkish or Turkish Cypriot side, it is shown that something similar has not been agreed or that the Turkish army does not intend to move the outpost. So there is a very clear violation of what has been agreed, "said President Anastasiadis in response to a question.

Earlier today, the so-called Prime Minister of the Occupied Territories, Tufan Erhουurman, said that work on the Deryneia roadblock would be completed and would be ready for operation on Monday, while the Aplikiou roadblock would be ready in ten days.

To add that the decision on the opening dates remains with the two leaders.

As reported by the occupiers, Mr. Erchurman visited the roadblock on the spot today at the checkpoint together with four "ministers", transport, interior, labor and agriculture.

Geni Duzen has released photos of the cabins set up for "police" and "customs officers" to staff the checkpoint, stressing that they have been temporarily set up.

"The T / C side will not be the one to delay the opening," Mr Erhiourman said. "We have completed the technical work, the process from now on is up to the two leaders. I hope that the political decision will not be late and the crossings will begin ", he noted.

The United Nations

"Neither side has informed the United Nations peacekeeping force in Cyprus (UNFIKYP) that the Deryneia roadblock is being reopened," UNFIKSIA spokeswoman Nickel Schmidt, Alim, told the Cyprus News Agency (KYPE). seeing the light of day on the impending opening of the roadblock.

Mr Siddiqui said the priority of the peacekeeping mission was to ensure the safety and well-being of those passing through the dead zone.
