The Mayor, the Municipal Council and the Culture Committee of the Municipality of Deryneia, invite you to honor with your presence the 5th Folklore Festival of Deryneia.
On Friday, June 3, the 5th Folklore Festival of the Municipality of Deryneia will take place.
The Festival will take place at the Folklore Museum, the Open Air Museum of Folk Art of Traditional Professions and in the square of the Medieval Church of Panagia.
The Open Air Museum of the Municipality of Deryneia hosts tools and objects of traditional professions and occupations such as commode, parperis, mason, farmer / weaver, weaver, fisherman, tailor, pelican, skarparis. The Folklore Museum houses the traditional Deryneiotiko house with the spaces and equipment of the household, agricultural and livestock activities of the people of the time.
Along with the taverns of the area, there will be kiosks in the area of the Festival that will have traditional dishes and handicrafts.
Breakfast schedule
8:30 am. - 12:30 pm
Demonstration of making halloumi and breads
• Exhibition with handicrafts
• Presentation and tour of the Museums by Mr. Sotiris Giannoukos, former Inspector of Philological Courses and scholar of Popular Culture.
Afternoon program
4:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
• Artistic program by the Dance Ensemble of the Municipality of Deryneia "Drymio"
• Making breads and buns
• Tasting of strawberry and honey derivatives
Evening program
8:00 p.m. - midnight
• Demonstration of flags by the guests
• Greeting from the Mayor of Deryneia Mr. Andros G. Karagiannis
• Announcement of the beginning of the Festival
• Artistic Program from the Cultural Club "Vasilitzia"
