The organization Cans for Kids donated five monitors for the needs of the public hospitals today, which will be utilized in Makareio Hospital, Thalassemia Center, Larnaca and Famagusta General Hospitals, as well as in Polys Chrysochous Hospital.
The handover ceremony took place at the Ministry of Health, in the presence of the Minister of Health Mr. Konstantinos Ioannou, the Deputy Executive Director of the State Health Services Organization (OKYPY) Mr. Kyriakos Georgiou and directors of Departments / Clinics of OKYPY.
Thanking the organization Cans for Kids for its offer, the Minister referred to the long-term support of the Organization to public hospitals, which is reflected in the almost 300 thousand euros spent in the 30 years of the Organization for the purchase of equipment for use by Clinics of Makareio Hospital. Both today's donation and the previous ones are the proof that the private initiative strengthens the efforts made by the State to ensure the provision of the necessary treatments to the patients who need it, Mr. Ioannou noted.
Finally, the Minister of Health expressed the belief that the five monitors that were given today to the hospitals of OKYPY will be used to the fullest, in order to benefit our children and our suffering fellow citizens.
For her part, Ms. Rozi Charalambous, President of Cans for Kids, said the organization had donated the five machines to other hospitals so that children living in other cities could receive the health care they need. their treatment, minimizing the inconvenience often caused by their transfer to Nicosia.
The goal of the Organization, underlined Ms. Charalambous, is to continue the efforts and through the recycling of tin cans to offer equipment to the children who need it, at the same time protecting the environment.
