The draft law on beaches was approved

After much discussion in the parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs, the draft law on beaches was approved, regarding beds and umbrellas.

This is a proposal of the Committee of Interior, in order to amend the Law on the Protection of the Beach, in order to revise some of its provisions, with the ultimate goal of resolving some problems observed during its implementation regarding the provision of facilities on the beach.

The bill was approved unanimously with 51 votes in favor.

According to the Report, the Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs, having taken into account everything that was put before it, decided to revise the text of the bill, so that it includes, among others:
Extension only once for one year of the validity of the existing on the date of entry into force of the proposed law licenses.
Notice by the relevant local authorities of the tenders for the award of facilities to persons within the first quarter of the fourth year of validity of the existing permit licenses and, if they are not announced within that period, a tender notice by the prefect in which is the part of the beach mentioned in each case within the next three months.

In case of revision of the beach use plan, not to affect the existing at the date of its entry into force services or facilities, which concern an area which falls under the relevant beach use plan, and therefore application in these cases for the period of validity of the said permits of the immediately preceding valid plan of use of the beach, which was approved and final at the time of their granting.
