In a direct trial before the Permanent Criminal Court of Famagusta, which will meet on March 20, a 34-year-old man was referred today on charges of illegal possession and transportation of a class B firearm, offenses committed on February 27 in the province of Famagusta, as reported the Cyprus News Agency.

According to Steve Theodoulou, press representative of the Famagusta Police Department, "after evaluating specific information, at noon on February 27, members of the Police stopped a car driven by the 34-year-old, on a road in the province of Famagusta. During the search that was carried out, a pistol was found in a cache inside his vehicle, which was confiscated."

The 34-year-old was arrested for the apparent offenses of illegal possession and transportation of a firearm.
