According to the Police, after evaluating information and evidence that a specific account user on a file sharing platform acquired and possessed child sexual abuse material, members of the Electronic Crime Prosecution Branch proceeded to arrest a 68-year-old person.
Specifically, yesterday morning members of the Electronic Crime Prosecution Branch and the Forensic Electronic Data Laboratory, carried out a search based on a court warrant in a building where the 68-year-old works in the province of Famagusta, where they located and received for further scientific examinations, two laptops, a mobile phone and seven hard drives.
The Cybercrime Prosecution Division continues the examinations.
