Famagusta: TEVEA's concern for government plans

The Famagusta Tourism, Commercial and Industrial Company (TEVEA) welcomes the announcement of the new employment support plans decided yesterday.

However, although the philosophy of the plans is in the right direction, we cannot fail to point out our concerns about reduced support for some tourism businesses, such as leisure centers, whose support is completed in August. Especially with regard to the leisure centers operating in the Famagusta District, where the vast majority depend mainly on the arrival of foreign tourists, the support should be greater.

We call on the Government to take this issue into account and to include the companies operating in the tourist areas in a single support plan, which, however, will take into account the specifics of each sector.

We also see an urgent need to implement the Government's announcements on the provision of liquidity in the market (interest rate subsidy, direct one-off grants to companies, etc.) as for several sectors the support has been terminated and the available liquidity is at very low levels. .
