Potato growers and grain growers took to the streets today, Tuesday 12/12 with their agricultural vehicles, ending up at the Presidential.

Yesterday, Monday 11/12, potato growers and grain growers from Famagusta District and Larnaca decided to move with tractors and double cabs to the offices of the Cyprus Agricultural Payments Organization (KOAP) protesting the delay in payments.

But after the information they received a while ago that all payments will be made before the end of the year, regardless of problems arising from their applications, they decided to transfer their mobilization to the Presidential Palace.

The President of the organization of potato producers, Andreas Karios, speaking to Famagusta News, said that we considered it right to initially go to KOAP, but the serious problems will be resolved through the presidential.

"We have already discussed on Friday with the commissioner at the Presidential office, today we will give him our memorandum and we await answers to what the president promised us."

Mr. Karios said that the price of oil and fertilizers in relation to 2020 increased by 40%.

Mr. Karyos emphasized that the problems that led them out of the presidential race are the increased costs faced by potato and grain producers and the control and data requested by KOAP.
